We
are seeing many smartphone manufactures trying to make their phone more
like a camera but what about camera that is more like smartphone. Even
when they are advertising their phone, they like to talk about how good
their cameras are, and how it is capable of zooming times fifty, it can
record video at 8K, it has macro camera, they use those point as their
min selling point. Very rarely you will see a camera which work like a
smartphone and it has capability to run all your favourite social media
apps
A company called Yongnuo made a camera which is like a smartphone as you
can see on the picture below and it is named YN450M. The reason all the writing
in the picture is in Chinese is because it is only sold in China and there is
no reason to have any other language. In summary the writing in the picture basically
says: upgraded version of 4G smart camera, it is running in Android system, it
can record at 4K Ultra HD, it has M43 mount lens, it can connect to 4G, it has
5" screen with 1080p resolution, it is capable of time-lapse photography,
it has 32GB of internal storage and it has stereo recording.

This smart camera has substantial things in common
with smartphone. Firstly, it has sim card slot so you will be able to connect
to 4G, text and make a call. It has apps which is meant for phones, such
as: contact list, text messages, voice recording, Brower, mail and
calculator. Also, you can download any Android application in the camera, for
example Instagram and other social media apps from google play store. Accessing
social media apps on your camera will allow the user to directly post their
picture or video. Yongnuo said this product is aim at social media influencers.
All those features and perks didn't just come without any problems. After watching plenty of review videos and reading about it, I realise it wasn't just all good. First of all, the photographer in LinusTechTips couldn't change any setting other than aperture, when he was taking a picture. Also, sometimes he couldn't tell if the picture is going to be exposed properly because the preview is showing it is well exposed, however when photo is taken it comes out darker.
Another reviewer,
McLarty Films says 'colours are more saturated and in high contrast' and I has definitely has room for improvement.
A great shallow depth of field
There are few smart cameras, but it has never caught on, for example, Polaroid iM1836 and Samsung Galaxy camera NX. However, those looked like a camera while YN450M looks more like a smartphone and targeted more toward influencer. What do you think of this product?
